The LGA will be hosting its 2012 Local Government Showcase on 12 and 13 April, at the Adelaide Convention Centre. Councils are invited to express an interest (by 27 January) in presenting their innovative, successful ideas, practices and examples at this biennial event.
The Local Government Showcase provides an ideal opportunity for Councils to learn from each other's experiences. The Showcase is held in the alternate years to the traditional LGA Conference, where the program is more externally focused and explores external influences on Local Government.
This will be the sixth Local Government Showcase that has been held, with very positive feedback being received previously, ensuring its ongoing success.
The LGA would like to have as many Councils as possible participate in the Showcase, either represented in the concurrent speaking program, or in the expo. Councils are encouraged to identify as many projects / activities as possible and complete the expression of interest form by 27 January.
Projects / activities nominated will then be considered by the LGA to ensure a diverse range of interesting topics are included in the program.
The LGA will be encouraging Councils to send as many Council Members and staff as possible to this important event, to share valuable information and to increase exposure to the diversity of other Council activities.
