Summary The EPA is proposing to introduce a mass balance reporting system for licensed waste facilities including transfer stations, resource recovery facilities and waste disposal depots which receive 5,000 tonnes or more of waste per annum.

The EPA is proposing to introduce a mass balance reporting system for licensed waste facilities including transfer stations, resource recovery facilities and waste disposal depots which receive 5,000 tonnes or more of waste per annum. These facilities will need to report on the monthly tonnages of materials that the site receives, stockpiles, uses onsite or transfers from the site for sale or disposal. The proposal also sets out associated record-keeping, weighbridge, video monitoring and site survey requirements.

The EPA seeks your feedback on the proposal as set out in this Explanatory Paper. Submissions close on Tuesday 31 October 2017.

An information session about mass balance reporting will be held at SA Water House, 250 Victoria Square at 10 am–12 noon on Monday 25 September. Please RSVP if you would like to attend.
