Summary The LGA Board has endorsed the Local Government Emergency Management Framework which is now available for download.

The LGA worked with Ernst Young to develop the framework, which was achieved by conducting an extensive consultation process involving councils, government agencies and non-government organisations.

The Framework(1226 kb) is intended to provide an holistic and integrated approach to emergency management for local government that aligns to the South Australian State Emergency Management Plan. It will also inform agencies, non-government organisations and the community how local government sees itself fitting into the State arrangements.

The Framework should be regarded as a dynamic guide that will change over time to reflect the evolving role that local government is taking in emergency management.

Inquiries regarding the Framework should be made to Neville Hyatt, T: 8224 2051
