Summary Submissions to the Inquiries into the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Amendment (Fair and Balanced) Bill 2017 and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Amendment (Rural and Regional Measures) Bill 2017 are invited and should be received by 12 January 2018

On 16 November 2017, the Senate, on the recommendation of the Selection of Bills Committee, referred the following bills to the Environment and Communications Legislation Committee for inquiry:

  • the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Amendment (Fair and Balanced) Bill 2017 ("Fair and Balanced Bill"); and
  • the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Amendment (Rural and Regional Measures) Bill 2017 ("Rural and Regional Measures Bill").

The Committee invites you to provide a written submission addressing issues concerning either or both bills that may be of relevance to you. If you intend to comment on both bills, it would be appreciated if this could be made clear in your submission.

Submissions should be lodged by 12 January 2018.
