Summary The Australian War Animal Memorial Organisation is seeking land on which to erect memorials. This Circular provides further details.

The AWAMO is a registered not-for profit incorporated entity that constructs memorials around Australia and overseas in order to recognise and honour the sacrifices of Australian military service animals and the contributions they have made to our nation.

The AWAMO is seeking land in South Australia on which to erect memorials to recognise the deeds and sacrifices of Australian military service animals.

The AWAMO will cover the majority of the fiscal expenditure for a memorial, however councils will need to provide a cement base for the plinth and ground maintenance staff should install the base. Design options for a memorial will be discussed with all parties.

Once completed, the memorial will become the property of the state or council, depending on where the memorial is erected.

Further details of the South Australia State War Animal Memorial Project can be found in the attached document. To view, please click here.

Interested councils should contact AWAMO President Nigel Allsopp on 0415980804 to discuss further.
