Summary Feedback is sought by the Attorney-General’s Department on the draft Fines Enforcement and Debt Recovery Regulations 2018 and the Expiation of Offences (Fines Enforcement and Debt Recovery) Variation Regulations 2018.

The Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) is seeking feedback on two sets of draft Regulations governing fines enforcement and debt recovery. The changes largely involve the consolidation of regulations that already exist, but also include some new provisions set out in the covering letter.

The letter and the draft Regulations are available here.

The draft Regulations were received too late to issue a circular before the Christmas break and the deadline for comments is very tight.  Any comments from councils should be directed to the AGD.
