LGA Conference and Annual General Meeting

The LGA Conference and Annual General Meeting is an event held annually in Adelaide.

The Local Government Association of South Australia (LGA) Annual General Meeting is one of the ultimate decision-making and policy setting forums for the LGA. In addition to the formal elements of the Annual General Meeting, the Conference provides important informal networking opportunities for Local Government delegates.

The 2017 LGA Conference and Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 November at Adelaide Oval.




The theme for this year's conference is Relevance, Resilience and Reputation.

The keynote speaker on day 1 (Wednesday 15 November) will be Dan Gregory. A well-known panelist on ABC's 'Gruen Transfer' and marketing consultant to the biggest global brands he is the Co-Founder, President and CEO of The Impossible Institute™, a strategic think-tank that helps organisations make positive change and make change positive!

After receiving feedback from members we have introduced more networking opportunities for delegates and have amended the program sessions to be more interactive.

Other speakers include the Lord Mayor Martin Haese, City of Adelaide; Mayor David O'Loughlin, ALGA President; Cr David Clark, Deputy President of MAV who will talk about the Victorian rate capping experience; Lou Boyle from LGAQ and Russell Petan from Telstra who will talk about their partnerships and how they helped future proof Queensland councils.

Day 2 (Thursday 16 November) will have a state election focus which will lead us in to the Annual General Meeting, concluding the event with a formal lunch.

Registration information

If your council registers additional delegates (for the full conference) above the number it sent to the Conference in 2016 they will receieve one free registration.  In addition, Councils who send four or more delegates (full conference pass) will recieve one free registration. So for every four delegates you register for the full event you will receive one free pass.

Please note that the free registration only applies if you register for the full conference (Both days and dinner).

LGA Annual General Meeting

The LGA Annual General Meeting will be held on the morning of Thursday 16 November. The LGA AGM Agenda and all other documents relating to this meeting will be available prior to the meeting from here
