Roadside innovation and technology innovation keeping Australians safe

The past year has been an exciting one for Roadside Services and Solutions on many fronts. The company celebrated its 10th anniversary in business; its Victorian operations moved into a state-of-the-art facility housing all its divisions of signage, bollards, guardrail, civil works, line marking and engineering in one complex; it just nudged over the 100 employees and its team of leading engineers have developed two innovative bollards which provide a new level of security for all Australians.

The Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) bollards, or better known as RAM48, were developed at the Adelaide Roadside Services and Solutions manufacturing plant. The bollards have been two years in design and planning and earlier this year testing simulation studies were undertaken at a leading transport infrastructure institute in India. The results were so extraordinary, Roadside undertook the next step of a controlled crash test at a purpose-built testing facility in Munster, Germany. The crash test proved to be resounding success.

hostile vehicle mitigation bollards are:

  • Designed to provide the highest level of protection from vehicles
  • PAS 68 certified and installed with secure footing
  • Crash tested and rated for trucks travelling up to 100 km/h

Meanwhile our new retractable gas lift bollards have been developed for anyone seeking people and infrastructure protection that can be activated as required.
