Face to Face Procurement Training

LGA Procurement works within the South Australian Local Government sector, as a partner to councils, to provide knowledge and networking opportunities to procurement staff.

A key component of this work is the Professional Development LGA Procurement provides, which incorporate this suite of training modules, developed and targeted specifically to the local government audience.

Procurement is an essential council function and an area of both risk and opportunity – be it from low level purchasing, to strategic, high value, high risk complex procurement.

No matter where you sit in the procurement cycle, these modules will enhance your knowledge and understanding of procurement and the value it provides to councils delivering their strategic outcomes.

LGA Procurement Training Program

Tailored specially for SA Local Government, we have just successfully concluded our courses for 2018 – with the addition of two very successful Webinar trials.

If you are interested in gaining a better understanding of procurement in local government, the calendar for 2019 is set.

We are again running all five courses to fit in with your 2018-2019 budgets; and again will conduct the full series in the second half of the year, so you can plan your professional development time.

The training modules are delivered at LG House, Frome Street Adelaide – where you have the opportunity to learn and network with other like-minded procurement personnel.  Courses are charged per person.

eLearning

LGA Procurement's eLearning Program, The Procurement Hub, offers a self-paced cost-effective training alternative that has been designed specifically for the South Australian local government sector.

Staff can access bite-sized modules, easily fitting into their daily work schedule.

eLearning is a great way to provide a consistent message, is measurable and auditable with assessments checking for understanding and embedding learning.

 Procurement Essestials - LGAP HUBProcurement Essentials
Suitable for anyone who runs a quote or tender

This course provides practical and insightful training on the end to end procurement process. It includes an overview of procurement, methodology, the different approaches to engage suppliers, governance, ethics and legislation as well as evaluation and selection considerations.

It consists of four modules:

  • Introduction to procurement
  • Guiding principles
  • The procurement process
  • Evaluation to supplier engagement
Contract Management - LGAP HUB Contract Management Essentials
Suitable for anyone who manages a contract or supplier agreement

This course is designed to provide the learner with techniques and tools to effectively manage supplier relationships. Commencing with the key principles of contract management, the course covers planning, mobilisation and management of suppliers as well as the important step of exiting a supplier.

Probity - LGAP HUBProbity in Purchasing and Procurement
Suitable for anyone who purchases or signs off on purchasing

Probity is an essential part of procurement and purchasing. This course has been designed to provide learners with the fundamental information regarding probity, ethics and governance within the procurement process. It explores the key principles, why probity is important including the risks and includes real-life case studies.
