2011 LGA Conference and General Meeting

The LGA held its 2011 Conference Growing the Future at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 April. A dinner was also held on the Thursday evening.

The Conference Growing the Future, held in alternate years to the LGA Showcase, focussed on the roles Councils play in future growth (or lack of growth) in their areas. It also considered the changing political landscape and governance issues, as well as the challenges associated with community engagement, water security, energy needs, regional development, and natural resources, among other issues.
