The LGA holds three major events a year.
- The Council Best Practice Showcase and LGA OGM is held in Adelaide around April/May each year and is attended by CEOs, Elected Members and some senior council staff
- The LGA Roads and Works Conference is held in a regional location in August each year and is attended by Council staff, engineers, works managers, outdoor works, elected members and some CEOs.
- The LGA Conference and AGM is held in Adelaide around October/November each year and is attended by CEOs, Elected Members and some senior council staff.
