The Government Apprenticeship Scheme provides a centralised recruitment and management service for State Government agencies and local government councils that employ and train apprentices.
All apprentices are employed on three or four year Contracts of Training by State Government agencies and local government councils. Apprentices will gain a nationally recognised trade qualification. Apprentices are not guaranteed employment at the end of their apprenticeship.

Anyone seeking an apprenticeship with the South Australian Government is eligible to apply. There are no restrictions on an applicant's age.
