The 2019 Local Government Communications Conference will be held on 4 & 5 July at the Lakes Resort.
The LGA is pleased to announce that the keynote speaker on day 1 will be Rose Herceg, Chief Strategy Officer, WPP AUNZ speaking on the topic: Place making around the world, where imagination has no limits
Rose has built a career as one of Australia’s most respected futurists and social forecasters. Rose’s first business, Pophouse launched in 1999, became known as Australia’s best regarded company for innovation, social trends and business strategy. In 2007, Rose sold her company to the STW Group.
In March 2015, Rose was appointed as the Chief Strategy Officer for the STW Group, now called WPP AUNZ after its merger with global communications powerhouse WPP.
Rose has had audiences with some of the most distinguished leaders of the global community including Lord David Putnam – film maker and head of Tony Blair’s NESTA - The National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, American publishing and media giant Oprah Winfrey, Bob Mansfield former Chairman of Telstra, Michael Lynch former Chief Executive of the Sydney Opera House, Google founder Larry Page and one of the world’s most distinguished architects, Frank Gehry.
We will also hear from Clayton Wehner, City of Adelaide; Julie Westrup and Peter Krieg, Squiz; Dion Hetherington founder of @southaustralianbeaches; Kirrilly Rowan, Toowoomba Regional Council; Nathalie Cattaneo, LGAQ.
Day two's keynote will be Emily Bissland, ABC Regional Reporter from Warnambool Victoria. Emily will present on how Warrnambool's ‘Accidental Wombat Mural’ video went viral reaching 54 million views.
Other speakers include Sarah Zanker, Colmor Brunton; Simon Holt, Ipswich City Council and a media panel including, Nadja Fleet and Matt Smith from News Corp and Emily Bissland.
