LGA Community Engagement Forum – Thursday 6 September 2018
A Community Engagement Forum will be held on Thursday 6 September 8.30am -5.00pm at Local Government House, and will provide practitioners with an overview of best practice engagement approaches, public consultation provisions in the Local Government Act 1999.
This session will also cover the upcoming implementation of the Community Engagement Charter under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 (PDI Act).
Engaging with communities in innovative and effective ways is critical to our sector so I encourage you to support your practitioners to be armed with the tools and techniques they need to plan and deliver successful engagement activities. There will be video conferencing facilities available for the morning sessions to enable more participation from regional councils.
