The draft report on the Inquiry into Local Government costs and efficiency will be published on the SAPC website on Friday, 30 August 2019.
The Chair of the Commission would like to present the draft report to councils, including the Commission’s approach, draft recommendations to the South Australian Government and draft advice to councils.
There will be two consultation sessions held, one focussed on metro councils and one focussed on regional councils, which will provide an opportunity for councils to ask the Commissioners questions regarding the report and their initial reactions. It lays a foundation for a further meeting in early October to hear and discuss council views.
The Commission will also consult with all interested stakeholders during September and October in the development of the final report.
The metro-focussed council consultation workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, 3 September 2019 from 2.30 – 4.30 pm in the LGA Boardroom, 148 Frome Street, Adelaide.
The regional-focussed council consultation workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, 4 September 2019 from 2.00 – 4.00 pm in the LGA Boardroom, 148 Frome Street, Adelaide.
The Commission encourages all stakeholders to engage and participate in all stages of the inquiry.
