Summary After a most successful ‘Mayors Leadership Forum’ scheduled at LG House this month, LGA Training is pleased to announce an ‘Elected Members Leadership Forum’ in Adelaide in February 2020. Places are limited! For further information about this training offering and to enrol please refer to the contents of this circular.

LGA Training has scheduled a three-hour professional and personal leadership development program exclusively for Elected Members on the 17th of February 2020. The Forum’s theme is  ‘Strategic Thinking as Strategic Seeing’. 

This forum aims to assist Elected Members become more aware of their personal perspectives and how to better understand the differing perspectives of the people they encounter in their role.

The guest speaker for this forum is Dr Chad Chiu, a Senior Lecturer and member of the Centre for Workplace Excellence (CWeX), School of Management.

Chad holds a PhD in Management from the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York, a Masters of Business Administration from the National Sun Yat-sen University, and a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. 

Chad’s research interests include team leadership, social network theories, and social influence. Chad is published in multiple top peer-reviewed journals in the academic field of organisational research, such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management Studies, and Leadership Quarterly He also teaches various courses related to people management in organisations, including Human Resource ManagementOrganisational BehaviourOrganisational Leadership, and Business Research Method.
