Round 2 of GISA’s Circular Economy Market Development Grants Program is now open.
Local councils, industry associations, not-for-profit organisations, research institutes and private sector organisations are all eligible to apply for grant funding. Projects must target priority waste materials such as plastics, glass, scrap metals, textiles, e-waste and tyres.
Eligible projects include those that validate and improved the quality and performance of local recycled materials or recycled-content products such as:
Product quality testing with accredited testing organisations;
Development of new or amended product technical specifications or standards;
The associated certification or accreditation processes linked to the product standards or specifications;
Laboratory testing and field trials for product mixes; and
The associated education, training and awareness raising activities.
Eligible projects also include those that develop or expand markets with activities such as development of sustainable procurement strategies, policies, targets, specifications, model practices and reporting.
Up to $100,000 in funding is available per applicant. Applicants must submit an Expression of Interest first and will then be invited to submit a full application if the project meets the funding criteria. There is no closing date for the grant program, the program will be open until all funding is committed.
Guidelines for the project are available here.
