Summary The LGA seeks feedback on the proposed Fines Enforcement and Debt Recovery (Miscellaneous) Amendment Bill 2020, by 10 February 2020.

The Attorney-General’s Department has invited LGA comments on the proposed draft Fines Enforcement and Debt Recovery (Miscellaneous) Amendment Bill 2020 (the Bill).

The Bill proposes amendments of a largely technical nature to the Fines Enforcement and Debt Recovery Act 2017 (the Act) and also proposes amendments to the Enforcement of Judgements Act 1991 (EOJ Act).

A copy of the proposed Bill is available here.

A summary of the major provisions of the Bill, based on advice of the Attorney General, is available in a Summary Paper available to members here.

The LGA seeks feedback from member councils to inform its submission to the Attorney-General.  Please provide any feedback by 10 February to Alicia Stewart at alicia.stewart@lga.sa.gov.au
