Rates hardship policy guidelines
Preparing guidelines that assist councils to consider the detail of a rates hardship policy should they choose to adopt one.
Draft guidelines
To develop the draft guidelines, the LGA Secretariat worked with the:
- Rating and Valuation Workgroup (sits under the SA Local Government Financial Management Group)
- Community Managers Network (CMN)
- President of Revenue Professionals SA (RPSA).
Consultation on the draft is currently occurring.
Project achievements
The project resulted in the delivery of the LGA Rates Hardship Policy Guidelines (PDF 794.9 KB).

This guideline is available to councils on the member section of the LGA website.
