LG Research & Development Scheme Advisory Committee
The Local Government Research and Development Scheme Advisory Committee is established through an MOU between the Treasurer and LGA. The Advisory Committee's role is to provide governance and oversight of the Local Government Research and Development Scheme and provide advice to the LGA Board.

Composition of the Advisory Committee
The composition of the Advisory Committee, approved by the LGA Board, is as follows:
- Three Directors of the LGA Board appointed by the Board, one of whom shall be the Chair (Director Member)
- One metropolitan council CEO appointed by the Board (Sector Member)
- One country/regional CEO appointed by the Board (Sector Member)
- One representative recommended by the relevant Trade Unions (Trade Union Member)
- One representative recommended by SA Universities (University Member(
- Manager of the Office of Local Government and
- Chief Executive Officer of the LGA (or nominee).
Each member of the LGR&DS Advisory Committee, with the exception of the Director Members and Sector Members, will have a proxy member to attend meetings in their absence.
