Script development for CWMS training courses

Project report

The project delivered 9 storyboards with full scripts that are ready for production along with identifying the costs associated with their production.

A review of the existing CWMS training materials with recommendations for translation into online Moodle courses. The training materials were provided by the Legatus Group after they had been developed by Dr Paul Chapman and reviewed by Ms Karla Billington, Naturallogic (Australia) Pty Ltd which included consultation with the relevant regulators.

An analysis was undertaken of the knowledge and skills that course participants needed to acquire and to ensure the content and interactions in the online course will promote the development of the acquisition of this knowledge and skills.

The drafting of the storyboard scope for each of the 9 CWMS online training courses, identifying learning objectives, learning outcomes, course content and how course content has been presented including use of images, diagrams, audio and video technology. Consideration was also given to how to promote interactivity between participants and course content.

Project achievements

There were significant delays following the need to gain external review and impacts of COVID-19 delays.

The outcome was the initial development of material for training scripts for nine online courses which were reviewed and then created into storyboards for nine online courses ready to load into Moodle. An overview of development costs on Moodle LMS including multimedia recommendations has been achieved.

Project distribution

This project has been provided to LGA as part of the staged development or a relevant training program. Discussions now need to be held with who will take to a final stage which is the production and commencement of the training.

Project evaluation

The evaluation included working with Legatus Group Project Manager and LGA  CWMS Manager with input from LGA Training and support from the Legatus Group CEO. LGA Training was invited to be part of the reference group but left this to the LGA CWMS Manager.

There was disagreement regarding the content matter relating to technical CWMS matters. The LGA CWMS Manager was regarded as the subject matter expert with respect to CWMS, and their opinion was deferred to regarding what is the appropriate content whilst trying to incorporate other comments as much as possible.  With respect to all online course storyboards, all were provided with the opportunity to review content changes and provide opinions and feedback.
