Support for councils in community wellbeing

Project summary

This project supports the LGA’s funding partnership with Wellbeing SA. A dedicated officer within the LGA will lead and coordinate a range of initiatives supporting and building the capacity of councils to invest in and strengthen community wellbeing planning and implementation.

Current completion of the project: 12%

The Senior Project Officer Wellbeing commenced in April 2022.

Three operational meetings occurred in the time period of June 15 to initiate the project and finalise an action/evaluation plan. Tasks completed/initiated in the time period in alignment with the action plan included:

  • a communications and engagement plan
  • establishing contact with councils and building a contact database
  • communication procedures were established between LGA marketing and Wellbeing SA

How have the project-related activities been shared with SA councils, regional LGAs and/or the broader sector?

An introductory announcement was made by the LGA in the CEO Update and Latest News shortly after the commencement of the Senior Project Officer Wellbeing. The project officer has subsequently commenced relationship-building activities with councils.
