Project Background

This project will support consultation with the state government and local government in preparation for the next local government elections.  The project will engage an officer to support the review of the Local Government (Elections) Act.

The project officer will support the LGA to deal with a number of issues were identified from the conduct of the 2022 local government periodic elections. The Electoral Commission is currently conducting a review of Local Government (Elections) Act 1999 and the appointed officer will support the LGA in collaborating with the Electoral Commission.
