Special Local Roads Program (SLRP) funding
Funding for strategic and/or significant local road projects is available through the Special Local Roads Program (SLRP).
The program has been in place in South Australia since 1985 and provides funding to South Australian councils and other bodies, as specified in the South Australian Local Government Grants Commission Regulations 2019.
It aims to enhance the regional and metropolitan road network by strategically supporting projects that deliver positive economic, social, environmental and safety outcomes for councils and their communities, through an annual merit-based grant round.
Funding is allocated annually through a competitive grant round and empowers councils to foster safer, more efficient and economically beneficial infrastructure across the state.
