Collective Impact: opportunities for LG innovation and reform

Research of three case studies in LG Collective Impact (CI) initiatives, and development of an assessment tool for councils considering CI.

Project approach

Please see note on requested minor change of project scope below and attached ethics application capturing proposed new scope. The project has confronted changes in circumstances with the closure of Together SA as a key agency, and the consequent collapse of Together SA relationships with proposed study sites. The new scope navigates a path through these changes.

  • Progress to date (mid project review)
  • Ethics approval has been received, establishing project design and methods
  • A consortium of researchers from UniSA and The University of Adelaide has been established to execute the work
  • Agreement has been reached with Sandra Robinson (former CEO of Together SA) to assist as a subject matter expert and as a conduit to sites where Together SA previously worked. Accordingly, a recruitment strategy has been developed.
  • A survey instrument has been developed
  • A literature review has been largely completed
  • Progress at 03/05/20 - the project has been completed in full.

Project achievements

The project has engaged with local Collective Impact initiatives and LGA stakeholders to produce a report, recommendations and Collective Impact Assessment Tool to assist with local implementation of Collective Impact initiatives.
