DPTI ePlanning integration
This project's final report and evaluation was completed on 8 February 2022
Project achievements
LGITSA successfully negotiated to reach an agreement with DIPTI and Auditor General's Department Department. The agreement includes Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in the interface specification (the PLIX).
The agreement to understand and contribute to Council's requirements came out of negotiations with LGITSA. Once those requirements became clear, this lead to the inclusion of the information management aspects of building inspections into the scope of the planning portal.
Without the involvement of LGITSA and the funding provided by this project; these outcomes would probably not have occurred.
LGITSA Board members met with the ePlanning Project Director regularly (weekly during the formative phase of the project). The ePlanning Project Director agreed to fund some of LGITSA's costs and therefore the project did not achieve the target spend.
The development and refinement of the PLIX has allowed Vendors to develop software to integrate with internal Council systems and the decision to proceed with that is left to Councils on a cost vs benefit basis.
This final part of the project facilitated work across a number of Council's to save them the cost of repeating the development of test plans, development of installation instructions and checklists, development of installation scripts and resolution of issues by co-ordination with State Government and the Vendor.
Project distribution
All councils involved in the final phase of the project have access to the deliverables.
