LG Reform – July 2022 Commencement

These affect the Local Government (Elections) Act and Local Government (Elections) Regulations and relate to filling vacancies, the conduct of supplementary elections and the manner in which nominations are made.
The Regulations also clarify that electoral advertising posters published by the Electoral Commission SA, the LGA or councils are excluded from the prohibition set out in section 226 of the Local Government Act. Read more
