2023–24 Priorities for the Local Government Research and Development Scheme

14 October 2022
The LGA invites proposals from councils on topics or fields of research for consideration for the 2023/24 Annual Business Plan for the Local Government Research and Development Scheme.

The Local Government Research and Development Scheme allocates up to $2 million each year for innovative projects which benefit South Australian councils and tackle sector-wide challenges.

Each year, the LGA prepares an annual business plan identifying key priorities for the sector. Please see 2022–23 Annual Business Plan for further information.

Annual research priorities are informed by:

  • direct feedback from councils
  • an environmental scan, including consideration of matters raised by councils through notices of motion to LGA general meetings
  • LGA Strategic Plan and Annual Business Plan.

The LGA invites feedback from councils on topics or fields of research for consideration for the 2023–24 Annual Business Plan for the R&D Scheme.

Please send your key priorities to lgrds@lga.sa.gov.au by Friday 11 November 2022.

Feedback will be considered by the Local Government Research & Development Scheme Advisory Committee at its December meeting.

Applications for funding to the Local Government Research and Development Scheme will be called in mid-2023.
