Give your feedback on the Adelaide Beach Management Review
For almost 50 years, South Australia’s beaches have been managed to protect our homes, businesses and infrastructure from storms. This has included sand carting via trucks and pipelines to areas that are being eroded.
Last year, the state government launched a review to find a lasting solution for coastal erosion along Adelaide's beaches.
The 12-month review, which began in December 2022, builds on previous research and explores coastal management practices both interstate and abroad.
The scientific review has shortlisted a set of options to better manage our coasts. These involve:
- where sand is collected from
- how it is to be distributed
- how it will impact our beaches.
These impacts could have a direct effect on how your council interacts with your beaches, including tourism, traffic and parking, dog management, coastal protection, local heritage, community group activities, events and waste management.
Please give your feedback on the shortlist of options
The Adelaide Beach Management Review Independent Advisory Panel now seeks your feedback on these options prior to making its final recommendation to the state government.
