Boundaries Commission: new Guideline 10 – Minister Initiated Proposals issued

12 January 2023
The Boundaries Commission has issued a new guideline to specifically outline the requirements of a Minister-initiated council boundary change proposal.

The SA Local Government Boundaries Commission has recently reviewed and updated its procedures to address the consideration of a Minister-initiated council boundary change proposal.

Guideline 10 – Minister-initiated Proposals outlines the Commission’s requirements for a Minister-initiated proposal and how the Commission will consider and inquire into a proposal should the Minister for Local Government choose to refer a proposal of any nature to the Commission.

Minor consequential amendments have also been made to Guidelines 1, 5, 8 and 9 to reflect the introduction of Guideline 10.

The amended Guidelines along with new Guideline 10 are available from the Boundaries Commission website.
