Nominate for the SA Flood Warning Consultative Committee
Previous members nominated by the LGA can be reappointed.
Successful candidates must attend two meetings per year – nominally March and October – held at the SA Bureau Office at 431 King William Street, or online.
Eligibility
To be eligible to nominate, you must have:
- local government knowledge and experience
- experience in asset management, particularly flood and water management for local government
- skills in project management and community engagement.
You must be a currently serving council member or employee of a council or other local government entity (unless otherwise determined by the LGA Board of Directors).
Sitting fees
The position on the SA Flood Warning Consultative Committee is non-remunerated.

To submit your nomination:
- complete the Nomination Form (Part B)
- attach a copy of the council resolution
- provide current CV
- respond to the selection criteria (no more than 2 pages)
- email documents to nominationscoordinator@lga.sa.gov.au

Next steps
Following the close of nominations, a meeting of the LGA Nominations Committee will be convened to consider the nominations received.
The recommendation from the Nominations Committee will be presented to the LGA Board of Directors for decision and sent to the Bureau of Meteorology for endorsement.
An update will be provided to nominating councils’ CEOs once a successful candidate has been selected.
About the SA Flood Warning Consultative Committee
The role of the South Australian Flood Warning Consultative Committee is to coordinate the development and operation of flood forecasting and warning services in South Australia.
The Committee acts as an advisory body to the Bureau and participating state and local government agencies.
