Updates to LGA Delegations Framework

19 July 2024
The LGA Delegations Framework has been updated, with revised Planning Delegations and templates now available for councils to access.

Councils exercise a broad range of statutory powers and functions, most of which can be delegated under the Local Government Act 1999 or other relevant legislation.

The Delegations Framework was created to assist council staff, particularly governance officers, on all matters of delegation by providing easy-to-use guides and templates that can reduce legal risk and enhance flexibility for councils.

The Delegations Framework is routinely reviewed by the LGA’s Legal Connect partners, Norman Waterhouse Lawyers.
