Webinar: Advancing Gender Equity through Physical Activity

9 July 2024
As part of our Wellbeing Webinar Series for local government, we invite you to join us this month to learn how community sports programs can improve gender equity in your community.

Discover ways to increase girls’ and women’s participation in physical activity with highlights from the multi award-winning Daughters and Dads Active and Empowered program.

What to expect at this workshop

We're opening up conversations on the ways to address barriers girls and women experience in participating in physical activity.

This aims to provide you with the knowledge and ideas needed to shape your council's wellbeing initiatives.

Preventive Health SA will set the scene with statistics and South Australian data around girls and women’s and physical activity, providing a valuable evidence-base for new programs.

We'll introduce you to the world-first lifestyle program, Daughters and Dads Active and Empowered program, which helps fathers act as agents of change in their daughters lives.

The Rural City of Murray Bridge will share their experience implementing the program and the difference it's made in their community.

Our Watch, the national lead for prevention of violence against women, will  discuss the role sport can play in addressing gender inequity, which is an underlying cause for violence against women.
