Changes to the Native Vegetation Act

The Department for Environment and Water has commenced public consultation on changes to the Native Vegetation Act 1991 and is encouraging feedback.

You can view the consultation on the YourSAy website, which includes a survey and access to the Native Vegetation Action Discussion Paper and Amendment Bill.

The consultation will remain open until Wednesday, 29 May 2024.

The upcoming webinar is intended to inform council officers about the potential amendments and help councils decide whether they would like to make a submission.

The LGA will also be putting together a sector-wide submission and is encouraging councils to contribute.

To contribute to the LGA submission, please email your suggestions to sarah.wozniak@lga.sa.gov.au. All submissions must be received by COB Friday 17 May 2024.
