Webinar: Learn more about CWMS Regulatory Reporting Review
Council’s have told us this reporting has a significant impact on time and resources, with many reporting indicators repeated or duplicated between each regulator.
This one-hour session will be held at 10.30 am on Wednesday, 17 April and facilitated by consultant and Associate Director of Ricardo Group, Richard Cawley.
Richard is an experienced utilities professional who has led and improved the organisational maturity of regulatory submissions for one of Australia’s largest water utilities and provided regulatory advice in consulting roles across Australia.
This webinar is a must-attend for any council staff responsible for managing or dealing with CWMS infrastructure as part of their role.
Why attending this session is important
In addition to the above reporting, in 2024-25 all councils with a CWMS will also be required by the National Water initiative to report publicly on their performance under the National Performance Reporting Framework.
This will add a significant increase in the time and resources needed to obtain data and complete reports.
How the LGA is helping councils
LGA has undertaken a review of all existing regulatory reporting requirements recognising there is value in:
- mapping and documenting reporting requirements to assess areas of duplication
- identifying opportunities for reporting efficiencies where there is duplication or misaligned criteria
- identifying barriers to council that impede the ability to report to the above agencies
- using a central database to record all data accessible to all councils.
Following the webinar, councils will receive a survey asking further questions around time, resources and barriers to help determine the difficulty of regulatory reporting.
