Webinar: Meet the Mental Health Commissioner

23 August 2024
Council staff are invited to attend a free webinar to hear from the Mental Health Commissioner of South Australia Taimi Allan about her role and how it interacts with the work local government is doing in the mental health space.

This forum has been organised in response to growing numbers of requests from councils for additional support in leading or facilitating mental health initiatives, and how to address mental health challenges in their communities.

What to expect at this workshop

This webinar will explore LGA South Australia’s collaboration with Preventive Health SA.

We'll also hear from the Commissioner about:

  • remit as the Mental Health Commissioner and key priorities
  • how this role sits in our health system and how this work intersects with councils
  • information related to mental health in rural and regional SA which might be relevant for councils working in mental health prevention
  • grants open to councils.

The Commissioner will also take questions in a short Q&A session.

Who should attend

Council staff with a role incorporating community wellbeing and mental health initiatives are encouraged to attend.
