Have your say on illegal dumping
Illegal dumping remains a significant and costly issue for all councils, affecting local environments, communities and resources.
LGA has consistently raised this as a key sector priority and is now seeking council input through a short survey.
The responses will help strengthen LGA’s advocacy to government for stronger penalties, improved prevention measures and strategic solutions to address illegal dumping across the state.

Why your response is important
LGA is exploring illegal dumping to:
- uncover trends and to better understand council costs
- better understand community behaviour shifts
- learn about council-led solutions already in progress.
These responses will help build a comprehensive picture of how illegal dumping affects communities, ensuring council experiences and solutions directly inform stronger state-level policy and advocacy.
