New local council careers promotional kit
LGA South Australia, in partnership with LG Professionals SA, has launched a new Local Government Careers Kit to help councils tackle skills shortages and promote career opportunities in local government.
The campaign 'Find a Career You Never Knew Existed' aims to support the sector to attract new talent, from apprenticeships to high-demand specialist positions, all in service to our local communities.
What’s in the kit?
Councils now have access to a suite of ready-to-use promotional tools, including:
- Flyers and posters
- Social media tiles
- Key messages
These resources are designed to support talent attraction and retention efforts within local government - whether council staff are attending a career expo, visiting schools, or enhancing their council’s communications.
Updates to the Local Councils Careers website
To support council recruitment efforts, we’ve revamped the Local Councils Careers website. This provides job seekers with everything they need to explore a rewarding career in local government.
The new website features:
- council career areas
- spotlights on a wide range of roles
- featured roles to guide job seekers
- career pathways, qualification information and more.
To bring these roles to life, the website also highlights council staff career videos and stories which showcase real experiences of working in local government.
Introducing the Local Councils Chatbot
We’re also excited to launch the new Local Councils Chatbot as part of our promotional campaign.
This interactive tool, now live on LGA's Facebook and Instagram channels, engages users by asking about their work interests and suggesting roles that match their aspirations.
It’s a fun and innovative way to connect potential candidates with their ideal career path.
