Nominate for the CEO Advisory Group

LGA is seeking nominations from regional CEOs to fill an upcoming vacancy on the LGA CEO Advisory Group (CEOAG). 
The term will commence on 1 February 2026 and conclude on 31 January 2027.

This vacancy follows the resignation of Bridget Mather from the Coorong District Council. Bridget has been a valued member of the group. Her insight and knowledge will be greatly missed across the sector.

The successful nominee will be asked to attend at least four meetings per year, generally held at Local Government House on Thursday afternoons, with the option to join online.

The CEOAG is used by the LGA to obtain CEO input into current and emerging local government issues and to debate potential solutions. Confidential Minutes (often setting out a diversity of views) are provided to the LGA Board, without naming individual CEOs.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must currently hold the position of Chief Executive Officer (or equivalent) at a regional South Australian council.
Please note, this is a voluntary role with no remuneration.

Nominations from CEOs can be made on the nomination form below, addressing the selection criteria and key questions.

As this is a committee of the LGA, not an Outside Body, nominations do not have to be endorsed by a council resolution.

  Include your response to the selection criteria and key questions - no more than 2 pages each.
• Current CV

Next steps

Following close of nominations nominees will be presented to the LGA Board of Directors for consideration.

The CEO Advisory Group was established under the LGA Constitution and Rules to provide advice on the design and delivery of policy and services for our members. Since its inception in November 2018, CEOAG has become a highly valued part of the LGA’s decision-making framework.
