Nominate for the SA Flood Warning Consultative Committee
Previous members nominated by the LGA can be reappointed.
Successful candidates must attend 2 meetings per year (nominally March and October) held at SA Bureau Office – 431 King William Street, or via online participation.
Eligibility
To be eligible to nominate, you must have:
- local government knowledge and experience
- experience in asset management, particularly flood and water management for local government
- skills in project management and community engagement.
You must be a currently serving council member or employee of a council or other local government entity (unless otherwise determined by the LGA Board of Directors).
Sitting fees
The position on the SA Flood Warning Consultative Committee is non-remunerated.

To submit your nomination, please email the following documents to nominationscoordinator@lga.sa.gov.au:
- the completed Nomination Form (Part B) including a copy of the council resolution
- your responses to the selection criteria in Part A (no more than 2 pages)
- a current CV (no more than 2 pages).
Applications close: 7 November 2025.
Next steps
Following the close of nominations, a meeting of the LGA Nominations Committee will be convened to consider nominations received.
The recommendation from the Nominations Committee will be presented to the LGA Board of Directors for consideration and sent to the Bureau of Meteorology for endorsement.
An update will be provided to nominating council CEOs once a successful candidate has been decided.
About the SA Flood Warning Consultative Committee
The overall role of the South Australian Flood Warning Consultative Committee is to coordinate the development and operation of flood forecasting and warning services in South Australia, acting as an advisory body to the Bureau and participating State and local government agencies.
