Nominate for the Local Government Finance Authority Board

Previous members nominated by LGA can be reappointed, however it is the preference of the LGA Board of Directors to appoint currently serving council members or officers.

Successful candidates must attend 6 meetings per year held at LGFA. Online participation can be negotiated for regional nominees.

Eligibility

To be eligible to nominate, you must have:

• local government knowledge and experience
• demonstrated expertise in financial management, accounting, and or banking
• strong understanding of the financial regulatory environment.

You must be a currently serving council member or employee of a council or other local government entity (unless otherwise determined by the LGA Board of Directors).

Only nominations submitted by a council, following a resolution of council will be considered.

Sitting fees

Sitting fees are $9,153 each year for representative members.

To submit your nomination, please email the following pdf documents to nominationscoordinator@lga.sa.gov.au:

• the completed Nomination Form including a copy of the council resolution
• a current CV
• your response to the selection criteria (no more than 2 pages).

Applications close 5:00 pm, Friday 23 October 2026.

Following the close of nominations, a meeting of the LGA Nominations Committee will be convened to consider nominations received. The recommendation from the Nominations Committee will then be presented to the LGA Board of Directors for consideration.

An update will be provided to nominating councils’ CEOs once the Board of Directors has resolved in relation to the nomination.
