Nominate for the Local Government Transport Advisory Panel

Nominations are now open for one metropolitan local government representative (Sector Member) on the Local Government Transport Advisory Panel (LGTAP). This is for a four-year term commencing 1 August 2026.

Successful candidates must attend at least 3 meetings per year held at LGA House, 148 Frome Street Adelaide. Online participation can be accommodated.

LGTAP is a committee of LGA to oversee the governance and operations of the Special Local Roads Program (SLRP).

The program provides funding to South Australian councils through an annual competitive grant round to enhance the regional and metropolitan road network by strategically supporting projects that deliver positive economic, social, environmental and safety outcomes for councils and their communities.

LGTAP’s key role is to consider applications for SLRP funding and make recommendations to the LGA Board of Directors, which flow to the South Australian Local Government Grants Commission for endorsement and relevant State and Federal ministers for approval.

Eligibility

To be eligible to nominate, you must have appropriate qualifications, experience and/or knowledge in:

  • local government knowledge and experience
  • infrastructure, planning and delivery, and grant management
  • sound project management, financial management and governance skills
  • local, regional and state transport planning
  • evaluation of grant applications, including analysis of information of a technical and financial nature.

You must be a current employee of a South Australian council.

Sitting fees

In accordance with LGTAP’s Terms of Reference, there is no remuneration for LGTAP members.

Read the Call for Nominations Information Sheet (Part A) (PDF 141.1 KB) for more information about the role and selection criteria. As this is a committee of the LGA, not an Outside Body, nominations do not have to be endorsed by a council resolution.

To submit your nomination, please email the following pdf documents to nominationscoordinator@lga.sa.gov.au:

  • the completed Nomination Form (Part B) (DOCX 59.9 KB) and your response to the selection criteria in Part A (no more than 2 pages)
  • a current CV
  • endorsement of your nomination from your council’s CEO.

Applications close at 9:00am on Tuesday 9 June 2026.

Following the close of nominations, the LGA Nominations Committee and/or the LGA Board of Directors will consider nominations received.
