Scope of services

This arrangement was established via the National Procurement Network (NPN)  to deliver value for money through a combined spend arrangement for local government throughout South Australia, Victoria and NSW.

This contract will attain discounted pricing based on the total combined spend from the participating councils across three states.

Australia Post are the successful  supplier of Bill Payment Services.

Bill Payment Services include:

  • Bill payment via over-the-counter transactions (OTC) at retail outlets
  • Bill payment via secure telephone
  • Bill payment via a secure online payment gateway service
  • Bill payment via secure smartphone / mobile technology
  • Other secure payment methods as may be desired by council and facilitated by the supplier

Councils with existing Australia Post contracts

For those SA councils who have existing individual contracts with Australia Post there are two options available:

  • Cut over to the LGA Procurement option (MAV Payments Industry Initiative); or
  • Decline the LGAP (MAV) offer and Continue/Renew on their own individual contract.

LGA Procurement suggest that all councils review the contract documentation available in VendorPanel (on the VendorPanel dashboard, select the MAV Procurement lists under the Supplier list heading). If council wishes to join this arrangement, they need to contact Australia Post as listed in the table above.
