Climate Ready Coasts program timeline
The following timeline summarises the history of the program, and how the current consultation fits within the overall program timeline.
2022
- Funding sought for a collaborative local and state government program focused on accelerating coastal hazard adaptation planning and improving the datasets that underpin this work.
2023
- Program planning
- Establish program governance structures
- Initiate Benchmarking Review and initial consultation
- Department for Environment and Water undertook detailed project planning for Data Workstream
2024
- Develop Coastal Hazard Adaptation Planning guidelines
- Develop Interim Implementation Model
- Hold a second consultation phase for the preliminary outputs
2025
- Grants for councils to progress coastal hazard adaptation planning
- LGA to support capacity building with adaptation planning
- Department for Environment and Water to continue to deliver Data Workstream projects
2026
- Update Coastal Hazard Adaptation Planning guidelines and Implementation Model based on learning from grant projects
- Monitor and evaluate
- Grant program concludes
